Manipuragam, the third among the Six Aatharams, is situated eight fingers above the Swadhittanam, right at the navel center of the human body. It is oval in shape and intricately connected to 1008 nerves, representing the network of life energy flowing throughout the system. This sacred center is considered the root of all the nerves, symbolizing vitality and the seat of dynamic power within the body.

Symbolism and Attributes

The Manipuragam is depicted as a lotus with ten petals, each inscribed with the sacred letter ‘Ma’ (ம). The element associated with this Chakra is Water, signifying adaptability, cleansing, and emotional harmony. Its crystal hue colour mirrors rejuvenation, inner balance, and healing vibrations. This lotus is said to be in the same luminous state as the color of a crystal, representing purity and clarity of purpose.

Divine Energy and Significance

Presiding over this sacred region are Lord Vishnu and Mahalakshmi, deities of preservation, prosperity, and grace. The form of the seventh-day crescent is linked to Manipuragam, symbolizing gradual awakening and balance. Activation of this Chakra awakens inner courage, clarity, and confidence, harmonizing the physical and spiritual energies within. When balanced, Manipuragam becomes a radiant center of power, guiding one toward self-realization and divine contentment.
